Hope in the Streets
The Trust has set up outreach centres around Kisumu, where
our trained staff work daily with some of the City’s most
vulnerable children. Our small blue and white buildings, provide
literacy and numeracy training, a point of meeting, counselling
and support for street children in the local areas.
The centres are located in Kondele, a busy market area,
Kachok, site of the cities main rubbish dump, Town, close
to the city centre and Rotary, close to the City’s
bus terminals. These are typically places where street
children are found.
The Trust’s workers meet with the children daily
and bring a structured program of activities and support.
We have just introduced a healthcare worker, who operates
a mobile clinic at the Hope Centres, offering a wide range
of treatment to the children.
This program is vitally important to the rest of the Trust’s
work, since all of the children now supported in the Orphanages
or Rehabilitation Centres were originally met on out on the
streets through this program.

'Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another.'"
